When will the Nokia 5210 be available?
The sales will start in the 1st quarter of 2002 in Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

What will the market price be?
The prices of mobile phones vary from market to market, and the final retail price will be determined later.

Is there something special about the Nokia 5210 materials?
Yes, the soft bumper materials protect your phone from splashes and dust. With its ergonomic shapes, the phone's materials offer an excellent grip.

What does improved durability mean with respect to the Nokia 5210?
It means, for example, that you don't have to worry about accidental drops from your desk or pocket - because the soft bumper materials protect your phone. Additionally, the new materials, construction, and locking solution - together with top and bottom shells - provide protection against water splashes and dust.

 

 

 

 

 

Features

What is the memory capacity of Phonebook, Picture Messaging, SMS storage and Calendar?
The Phonebook memory capacity is up to 250 names of 20 characters (depends on coding), and phone numbers of 30 digits in the phone, with up to 250 supported in SIM, the actual number of memory locations in SIM being SIM-specific (dynamic memory). SMS storage is up to 30 messages of text (dynamic memory). Picture message storage is 11 picture messages. In Calendar there is memory for up to 100 calendar notes.

Does the Nokia 5210 calendar have some new useful functions?
Yes, the calendar can accommodate up to 100 calendar notes, and the notes can be repeated (using only one slot of the memory). You can also send the calendar notes to many recipients simultaneously and view the calendar two weeks at a time. Additionally, you can save sport specific Training Icons as calendar notes. There are 20 predefined Training Icons in Calendar, representing different global sporting activities.

How does the Thermometer work?
The thermometer in your Nokia 5210 is a feature providing you a means to measure the approximate temperature of your surroundings in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. You can activate the Thermometer under Extras, and then select Thermometer. The temperature will flash on the display until the measurement is ready.

How does the rhythmic vibrating alert work?
The rhythmic vibra vibrates to the rhythm of the ringing tone. If you have the normal vibrating alert activated, you can have a ringing tone that has a so-called "programmed vibra" in it. In such a case the rhythm may be driven at a specific speed, and thus it really follows the rhythm of the ringing tone.

If I activate my phone for the silent profile, how can I be sure that I don't forget to switch it back to, say, the general profile?
The Nokia 5210 has a function called Timed profile. This means that when, for example, activating the silent profile, you can set up the selected profile for a certain length of time, up to 24 hours. For instance, you can set up a silent profile for one hour and then after one hour the phone will automatically return to the previously set profile.

How do I activate the animated full display Profile Logo?
The animated full display profile logo can be activated under the Profiles menu. After choosing General, choose Personalise and then you can activate the preferred Profile Logo by pressing Select. There are different types of profile logos: Animations, Still Pictures and Digital Clock.

On which menu do I find Digital Clock? How can I get it onto my phone display?
You can find and activate Digital Clock under the Profile Logo menu function (see the steps above). Digital Clock is one of the animated Profile Logo options. The Digital Clock is set as the default full display Profile Logo in General Profile.

What can I do with Picture Editor?
With Picture Editor you can create, edit, and save picture messages and clip-art or edit pictures already existing in the phone. Picture Editor can be activated under the Extras menu. When drawing or editing a picture you can use two tools: pen and cursor. Additionally, you have several drawing options. You can, for example, change the color of the line you are drawing, insert different objects to your drawing, or fill in some color.

Does the Nokia 5210 support WAP?
Yes it does.

How many bookmarks can be stored in the Nokia 5210?
You can store up to 15 bookmarks of your favorite WAP pages.

Where and how can I get the PC Suite for Nokia 5210?
You can download it for free from Nokia Web pages when the software is available.

If I have an older version of the Nokia PC Suite in my computer (Such as for the Nokia 8210), what do I need to do?
You should first remove the PC Suite for such phones as the Nokia 8210 or Nokia 8850, before downloading the PC Suite for the Nokia 5210. If your PC Suite for Nokia 5210 cannot be downloaded before removing another PC Suite, you will receive notification.

How many cover options are available for the Nokia 5210?
The color of the phone in the sales package will be Burned Orange. In addition, there will be four Xpress-on
TM shells sold as accessories: Thirsty Blue, Wave Blue, Flushed Yellow, and Weathered Green.

How do I change the top and bottom shells?
First you have to remove the existing top and bottom shells. Take a firm grip on the top and bottom shells with the back of the phone facing you. Press both release buttons on the bottom shell inwards and slide top shell off. Then press both release springs on the engine part sides, which appear after the top shell has been removed, and slide the bottom shell off. You can then choose your own combination of color shells and put the bottom and top shells back on.

Can I use accessories of other Nokia phones, such as the Nokia 3310, 3330, 6210, 6310 and the Nokia 8310, with the Nokia 5210?
Yes, some of them. For the most part, carrying cases, chargers, and headsets are compatible.

Can I listen to music with my Nokia 5210?
Yes. The Nokia 5210 is compatible with the Nokia Music Player HDR-1. With the Nokia Music Player you can listen to downloaded digital music and FM radio while connected to the Nokia 5210.
